My name is Venice, and I am facing a medical emergency that requires specialized care at Stanford. After being recently diagnosed with chronic Ehlers-Danlos, my health has taken a turn, and I now have acute needs for both gastroenterology and neurology. The journey ahead is daunting, but I am determined to seek the best possible care to improve my quality of life.
I am fully disabled and have worked hard in my community, but I have to leave Humboldt County to receive care, as it is remote and no specialists are available. To receive this care, I need to travel and relocate so I can be with family who will support me on this healing journey. I live well below the poverty line, and these expenses are simply more than I have. Stabilizing my health will allow me to continue my work serving Indigenous and homeless communities. Being close to loved ones will provide the emotional and practical support I need as I undergo treatment and work toward recovery.
Thank you in advance for any support you can offer. If you cannot give financially, please share this with your networks and include me in your thoughts and send me healing energy. Your generosity and kindness mean the world to me as I focus on healing and hope for a brighter future.
