Please help me raise funds for my cousin, Veda, who urgently needs brain surgery to remove a tumor.

Last month, my cousin Veda began experiencing sudden and aggressive hearing loss. After a series of tests and an MRI, doctors discovered a 2 cm brain tumor pressing on the nerves responsible for hearing and other sensory functions.

This benign tumor has already caused complete hearing loss in Veda’s right ear, along with loss of taste and other sensory challenges that continue to worsen as the tumor grows. While we’re incredibly grateful the tumor is operable and the outlook for recovery is strong, unfortunately the hearing loss is permanent, and they will continue to experience this and other sensory-related challenges as part of this new reality. There will be lifelong adjustments ahead, and Veda will also incur additional expenses for specialized equipment and support to help them navigate and adapt to these changes.

Veda’s surgery is scheduled for November 21, 2025.

Veda is a single parent, deeply devoted to keeping life as steady and normal as possible for their son, Jordan, during this difficult time. Recovery will require several weeks of rest and healing, and the financial strain of being unable to work has added enormous pressure.

Despite Veda’s hesitation to ask for help, I’ve convinced them to let me create this fundraiser on their behalf. My hope is that this community can come together to help relieve some of the burden — whether that’s medical bills, household expenses, or child care during recovery.

As a public school teacher, parent, and friend, Veda has devoted their life to supporting those in need. My hope is that the same energy they have so generously poured into others over the years can circle back to support them now.
