Pictured here is my seven month old daughter Vayda. Vayda was born with a birth defect that has gone unnoticed until about a month ago. Yesterday, July 30 she had a consultation with the surgeon and we found out that she needs to have a major surgery in order to fix this birth defect. Within the next month, she’ll have to go under anesthesia and have the procedure. We have 3 other kids and one vehicle thats 20 years old and only has 5 seats, 2 in front and 3 in back which will only fit 2 car seats. We had a van but our transmission blew up. After the surgery she will need to take multiple trips back to Syracuse to see her progress and check on her. That will entail traveling with all the kids which is impossible with the car or finding a sitter. Then add gas, medical bills, co pays for scripts so on and so forth. Anything and everything will help. It breaks my heart to know our poor girl has suffered this long.

Funds will be used for: gas, medical bills, co-pays, medical supplies for before and after surgery, car repairs, bills for the times her father misses work, etc.

Edit 8/1/24 - I keep getting asked what her diagnosis is, which is understandable, especially when it comes to people donating money but for the privacy and respect of my daughter who is unable to consent at this age for something like this to be talked about I will briefly say that it is something that is extremely important and shouldn’t have gone this long without being undiagnosed. It’s going to follow her for the rest of her life and she will have complications along side with it. I understand if people do not want to donate without an exact explanation so even just sharing goes along way.

Edit 8/5/24- So apparently the doctor reviewed the results and called to schedule the surgery and the anesthesiologist told her they won’t schedule until she has the cardiac work up done. The nurse told me they are scheduling 3/4 months out so she’s gonna call in the AM and fight with them to do it ASAP because the surgeon wants the surgery done by the end of this month, beginning of September the latest.

Not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing but I’m gonna look at it like they are just being extremely cautious because of her age.

Please keep us in your prayers. I’m struggling every day to stay positive in this crappy time, I catch myself falling short in so many aspects and nobody really seems to understand.

Edit 8/7/24- today they called with a date for her surgery. She goes in August 30th, pre op by 10:30am, operation starts at 12pm. Please keep us in your prayers.

Edit 8/9/24 - Vayda went to Syracuse again today for her Cardiac appointment where she had an ekg and echo done of her heart. Thank God everything came back good! We learned that every human is born with a small hole in their heart and usually closes round 1 years old but Vayda’s already closed! She is cleared for surgery which will take place 8/30/24

8/30/24- Vayda had her surgery and is doing well! Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as they thought. She is on clear liquids and super super tired.

9/1/24- Vayda is doing well. We are still in the hospital. She hasn’t been able to breastfed and is still on clear liquids until she has a bowel movement. She’s in good spirits minus being hungry. She won’t let me leave her side for anything though…..keep her in your prayers please.
