Support Va’Shayna's Journey Back to Medical School
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Megan, and I’m writing on behalf of my childhood friend, Va’Shayna. We grew up together in Brooklyn, New York, raised by two incredible single mothers who inspired us to dream big—even when times were tough. Since we were kids, we both dreamed of becoming doctors, and this year, Va’Shayna made that dream a reality by starting her first year of medical school.
But this past weekend, Va’Shayna’s amazing mom, Nirvelyne, suffered a stroke and is currently in rehab. She has a long road ahead of her, and Va’Shayna has had to take time off from school to step in as the primary caregiver—not only for her mom, but also for her 17-year-old sister, who’s still in high school and unable to help financially.
Va’Shayna is doing her best to hold everything together—navigating school, caring for her family, and trying to make ends meet—all while facing the emotional toll of her mom’s stroke. She’s strong and determined, but she needs our support now more than ever.
If you can donate anything—no matter how small—it would mean the world. Your help will go toward supporting Va’Shayna’s family through this incredibly difficult time: transportation to and from rehab, groceries, utilities, and the basic costs of keeping her family afloat so she can return to school and continue on the path to becoming a physician.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and helping however you can.
With love and gratitude,
