Hello! My name is Van and I am a local KJ & Entertainer in the beautiful Bend, OR. I started my event business (Hello Entertainment) in 2021 after nearing the end of Covid. Like most service workers during the time, I was lost and decimated financially by the crisis. I didn’t know what to do. All my life, music and singing had been the one thing that always gave me peace, and karaoke was a way to channel that. It brought me back and helped me find community. With the encouragement of Dogwood Cocktail Cabin and the mentorship of Immersive Experiences LLC, I began to explore the realm of entertainment. It was such a humbling process to learn about sound and technology, yet I grew to love it and I found myself absorbing it all. I found community.
In these last 3 years, this business has expanded in ways I never imagined, from bar venues, private parties, and even corporate events! It has taught me patience, compassion, and an irrefutable truth that we as a people just want to be heard. I’ve been able to provide a safe, fun, welcoming atmosphere through my Karaoke & Entertainment Business. With me, people are more than just another number in the song queue.
With the expansion, I’m wanting to teach others what I’ve learned and give them the same opportunities I’ve been given, as Hello Entertainment reaches further in the PNW. Donations will go towards getting a reliable vehicle to tow equipment, equipment upgrades, branding, social media, training/certifications, and networking events.
I hope to one day be able to uplift people as much as this community has uplifted me.
