My name is Michelle Sok and I am creating this GoFundMe for my husband, Vanna (Lazy) Fut.
Vanna has been battling a brain tumor for about 14 years. He had to quit working and stop doing all the normal things he used to love because of the multiple seizures, slurred speech, and his short-term memory loss.
He has had two strokes; the second stroke caused his right side of the body to completely lose the ability to do all the normal things he was able to do before.
Due to the lost of his mobility, he is bounded to his wheelchair. He is unable to walk any distances from short to long, which effects his day to day life.
He has had multiple surgeries one in 2012 and one in 2014 and multiple rounds of chemo/radiation because doctors are unable to remove all the tumor due to its location near his speech and memory centers. It's more dangerous to remove it all, so the multiple surgeries have only been able to remove the tumor that had spread. Recently, he went through gamma knife radiation. His doctors wanted to try that first before another surgery due to high risk because during the 2nd surgery he suffered a stroke. If this does not help the tumor that is spreading, we would have to look into the surgery option, which his neurologist has already said he is at high risk to suffer a stroke during. I want to give him every chance and do everything we can to ensure he lives long enough to watch our daughter graduate college and walk her down the aisle.
Daily, he has to take 12-15 pills in the morning and at night. We have to use AirTags and tracking devices to make sure he doesn't wander and get lost because of his short-term memory issues; he forgets places and people at times.
With just one income in the household, it has taken a big toll on us. He has never asked for help or for anyone to feel sorry for what he has gone through. I watch him struggle to talk, to walk, to remember things, and to be a normal person again, and it breaks my heart each time. He was once so active and now he hasn't been able to do all the things he used to love to do. He is the strongest person I know, but even the strongest need help.
I am doing this GoFundMe to ask for help to cover his Dysport injections he has to get every 3 months to help with the trembling in his arms and legs, to cover the MRIs he has to get every two months, his daily medications, his future medical treatment, his future surgeries, to give him the best quality care that he needs.
