Support Vanessa's Son's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Vanessa, and I’m a mother, teacher, and caregiver doing my best to hold everything together after an incredibly difficult few months.

At the end of March 2025, I was involved in a total loss car accident. Just as I was trying to recover from that, the unimaginable happened—on June 16, my son was hit by a truck while riding his E-bike.

He was rushed to Children’s Hospital by ambulance, where he spent 10 days in critical care with skull fractures, brain bleeds, and a blood clot. Those were the hardest days of our lives, but we’re so thankful that he’s finally home and healing.

However, the road to recovery is far from over. My son requires frequent follow-up appointments, therapies, and specialist visits. Without a reliable car—due to my accident in March—getting him to and from these appointments has been incredibly difficult.

As a full-time teacher, I don’t receive pay during the summer months, and I haven’t been able to work as many hours at my part-time job in order to care for my son at home. The emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming, and I’m humbly reaching out for support to help us through this time.
