Support Vanessa's Grieving Mother and Siblings

Early on the morning of Dec 11, 2024, a “27-year-old woman of no fixed address” was struck by a driver as she walked down Oxon Hill Rd in Maryland. The driver took off immediately and left her in the middle of the road to die.

Her trauma was so severe she died before good citizens could get help from 911 calls. She was not just a 27-year-old woman; she IS my beautiful, talented, eldest daughter, my eldest of 4.

My solace is that her injuries were so traumatic and severe, that it’s doubtful that she languished in pain for long. Her trauma was so severe, it’s still up in the air if she can have an open casket once I get her transported back to Florida.

None of her family had the gift of saying goodbye. Her younger siblings and I were notified of her Maryland tragedy by a knock on the door from FL deputy sheriffs more than 24 hours later.

I'm seeking help to deal with a laundry list of unexpected expenses that become part of a family’s life when a 27-year-old dies suddenly and unexpectedly.

As her mom, I’m grieving while working 2 jobs and need help to step back a bit for my mental health and to support her 3 siblings—2 have special needs and one grieving sibling is a HS Sr. (coincidentally) a year that already had a myriad of expenses.

I normally work 72 hrs as an overnight caregiver to 2 autistic adults as well as part-time in retail.

Any help is appreciated and will help with the many, many unexpected expenses that are coming at us in this really sad holiday season. In addition, it will help us to grieve in a healthy manner & heal.
