Support Vanessa's Fight Against Scleroderma

Our dear Vanessa Holden Knapp has been bravely living with Systematic Sclerosis Scleroderma, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the skin and internal organs. She has the most serious form of the disease. It is the most fatal of all rheumatological diseases. Disability and survival are mainly influenced by the presence of damage to the lungs, kidneys, heart and gastrointestinal systems. She has faced numerous challenges exhibiting strength and resilience, but the progression of this condition has significantly impacted her quality of life.

Now, Vanessa has a beacon of hope: CAR T-cell therapy. This innovative and potentially life-changing treatment offers a chance to reset her immune system and halt or even reverse the effects of Scleroderma. While this therapy holds incredible promise, it comes with significant financial burdens.

Vanessa will be traveling to University of Michigan Health for her therapy to begin on June 16th and will be staying in Michigan to undergo treatment for 6 weeks. Although some of her expenses are covered through the study, she will be experiencing additional expenses throughout her fight.
