Vanessa Gonzalez is a dear friend who is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. While on vacation in Ecuador, Vanessa, her in-law family and her son, Zechariah Diaz, were involved in a car accident. Tragically, Zechariah passed away. Vanessa is now in Ecuador with her husband by her side, far from the love, comfort, and support system waiting for them back home in New Jersey. On top of this devastating loss, the family is now facing the difficult and overwhelming process of handling arrangements in another country, a process that may take 20 to 30 days before they are able to return home.

Vanessa is a dedicated mother, an excellent friend, and a caring daughter who gives so much to the people around her and cares deeply about her community. Zechariah was her entire life, the reason she lived and breathed, and the reason she woke up every morning.

This fundraiser is to help Vanessa and her family through the painful days ahead. The support raised will help them manage arrangements, cover unexpected expenses, and ease some of the burdens they are carrying during this heartbreaking time.
