Support Vance's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On Saturday, September 7th, after completing the Ride the Rim event at Crater Lake Vance began feeling unwell at his girlfriend’s home. He was rushed to Providence Medical Center, where doctors discovered a critical bleed in his temporal lobe. Unfortunately, Providence was not equipped to handle the severity of the situation, and Vance was transferred to Rogue Regional Medical Center, where he underwent an emergency craniotomy—a last-chance surgery to save his life.
We are incredibly grateful that Vance survived the surgery, but his road ahead is uncertain. The area of his brain affected by the bleed controls movement, speech, and cognitive function. Vance faces significant challenges in his recovery, and the extent of his abilities moving forward is still unknown.
For those who know Vance, you know how much mountain biking means to him. Whether shredding trails on his mtb, moto or snowboard his love for all outdoor activities are a defining part of his life. We are hopeful that with time and rehabilitation, he’ll be able to return to the activities he’s so passionate about.
His family has traveled from Wisconsin to be by his side, and they will likely need to fly back and forth several times as Vance’s situation evolves. Once he is stable, Vance will eventually need to transfer to a rehabilitation center. This transition and ongoing care will come at a significant cost.
We are asking for your help to support Vance and his family during this incredibly difficult time. Your donation will assist with medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and travel for his loved ones who are standing by him as he navigates this challenging journey.
Anything you can contribute is deeply appreciated, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser with others. Let’s rally around Vance and show him the support he needs to heal.
Thank you for keeping Vance in your thoughts and prayers.
