Last Thursday [4/23], Vance went to the dermatologist for worsening of ongoing leg wounds he's been managing for about 10 months. At that visit he mentioned lumps he'd noticed in his neck. The dermatologist expressed that his legs were now the least of his worries and placed orders for labs and imaging to be done as soon as possible. The next day [4/24], he had labs drawn and several CT scans, which revealed a probable diagnosis of lymphoma with involvement in his neck, chest, abdomen, liver, and spleen. Sunday [4/26] he developed more fullness in his throat and was admitted to the hospital, where he underwent a biopsy on a lymph node in his neck. After a visit from oncology, he was discharged to rest at home. The biopsy results confirmed Classical Hodgkin lymphoma, nodular sclerosis, stage III. Vance is unable to work at this time and has a long road ahead.
Funds raised will be used to help with medical bills, living expenses, and travel for treatment. This is a very unexpected journey and we are leaning on our faith and trusting God every step of the way. If you know Vance, you know his strength, humor, love for soccer and all things cars - those haven't changed. He's ready to face this with courage, and we believe brighter days are ahead. We are so grateful for any prayers, love, and support . If you feel led to give, share, or simply pray, it means more than we can put into words. Thank you for being a part of Vance's Lymphoma Journey.
