Hello! I do small time husky rescue, behavior modification, training, and rehab in the UP of Michigan. Usually I get overall healthy dogs in and I train them for pull sports and I try to find them homes with folks who will continue their activities. However, this past weekend (Sunday, October 26th 2025) I had a young intact female dropped off who needs her right eye removed ASAP.

According to her previous owner who had to tearfully surrender her, Ms Valkyrie has had this issue her whole short little life. I was able to get her seen by a vet 1 1/2- 2 hours away on Thursday October 30th who determined that the eye needs to be removed. It is infected, it is causing her constant pain and discomfort, and we have scheduled the surgery for removal as well as spay for the 19th of November.

I have applied and been approved for Care Credit and have some available but not enough to cover the entire cost of surgery. I have been estimated 740$-1,250$ish for the surgery and will include a link to the PDF estimate I was emailed.

I will use all funding to go towards her surgery and treatment, and if there is any excess, it will go towards the future spays/neuters/shots for more dogs in need. If anyone would like to directly fund these procedures, please contact the vet at their numbers listed in the estimate and put it under Valkyrie or Christa Nickell.
