Support Valerie's Memorial Bench in St. Louis Park

My daughter Valerie passed away on May 13th, 2024, shortly before her 34th birthday. She had struggled with depression throughout her life, but it became overwhelming for her after she lost her husband and soulmate, Jordan Vison in 2020, tragically leading her to take her own life this year.

Valerie and Jordan met in 2009, when they were in their late teens, but they connected in a magical way and built a life together, marrying in April of 2019. Tragically, their fairytale romance ended 15 months later when Jordan suffered a rare, fatal asthma attack. In the years that followed, despite loving family and friends supporting her, Valerie's grief became increasingly intolerable.

During their final years together, the two lived in St. Louis Park, near Minneapolis, Minnesota and spent time together enjoying a park near their home. After Jordan's death, we arranged to have a tree planted in the park in his memory.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to have the City of St. Louis Park place a Memorial Bench, facing Jordan's Tree, in the same park. I met with a city official this week who is making arrangements to relocate a existing city bench to another location in the park and replacing it with a bench in Valerie's memory, so that she and Jordan can be close to one another in the park.

The cost of the bench and installation is approximately $3000. Any amount raised beyond that will be used to off-set other death related expenses.
