During a routine eye exam, Valerie’s ophthalmologist discovered an abnormal speck on the surface of her eye. She was urged to see a specialist located in New York at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She spent the first few appointments being monitored for changes and growth, and in August she received the news that the speck had progressed to choroidal melanoma. Between traveling back and forth from Virginia to New York, and now receiving radiation treatment requiring inpatient stay in the hospital, Valerie has been burdened financially with the expenses health care doesn’t cover. We are looking to try and help her medical expenses and travel during her cancer journey. She’s a young, 25 year old woman trying to get on her feet and needs support during this tough time. We appreciate everyone who can contribute and share her story.
