Support Valeria's Path to Permanent Residency

Hi! My name is Valeria. :)

I am always happy to support my family, friends and anyone in need, lending a helping hand and bringing a positive outlook on life. And today, I started this campaign to ask for your support with my adjustment of immigration status.

I have lived in the U.S. since I was a little five-year-old Kindergartener. I call this country my home and after 23 years, I finally have the ability to adjust my immigration status and apply for permanent residence!

However, I faced some unexpected circumstances that were out of my control last year. I’d like to share a bit about my immigration journey to illustrate how your support can have a positive effect on my ability to adjust my status, especially during these uncertain times.

Back when I was sixteen years old, I was able to apply for DACA for the first time, and I have consistently renewed it every two years, paying the fees, filing everything on time, working part-time while going to school, working full-time in human resources and paying taxes every single year.

This past year, my DACA renewal took months longer than expected to be approved, causing me to be ineligible to work for months since my work permit was dependent on the DACA renewal, and this resulted in a completely unexpected financial impact and loss of income. This financial setback delayed my plans to apply for my adjustment of status to become a permanent resident last year.

I have been diligent in taking all steps to be as prepared as possible for the adjustment of status process, paperwork and interviews, and I would truly appreciate the support of family, friends and community to ease some of the financial hardship that comes with adjusting one’s immigration status.
