My name is Valeria. I am 19yo and a student at Santa Monica Community College, I am raising funds for a lawyer after my father was arrested by ICE officers in Minneapolis on January 11, 2026.

At the moment, my father is being held in a detention center. He is very rarely given the opportunity to make phone calls, so I am unable to discuss a clear plan of action with him. However, one thing I know for sure is that he urgently needs a lawyer to challenge his unlawful detention.

My father has no criminal record and has never been deported. He has not broken any laws and has always treated law enforcement officers with respect. He has all valid documents allowing him to work and legally remain in the country.

Since my father was the sole provider for our family, we currently do not have additional funds to pay for legal representation. I am deeply grateful to anyone who is able to help in any way — every donation truly makes a difference.
