Valeria, es una joven de 16 años, valiente, llena de vida, belleza e inteligencia, cuya sonrisa ilumina cualquier lugar donde esté.

Aunque no tiene control total de su cuerpo, su espíritu, su inteligencia y su alegría inspiran a todos los que la conocen.

Valeria nació con una lesión cerebral — su diagnóstico médico es agenesia del cuerpo calloso y parálisis cerebral.

Esto significa que el tono y control muscular de su cuerpo están afectados: tiene espasticidad en sus extremidades y bajo tono muscular en el tronco, el cuello y el control cefálico.

Por esto, nunca ha podido gatear, caminar o hablar como la mayoría, pero su mente está completamente presente. Vale siente, entiende y se conecta profundamente.

A medida que ha crecido, el peso de su cuerpo ha afectado su postura y columna, y ha creado nuevos retos físicos. Su silla actual ya no es segura ni adecuada, y recientemente se dañó por completo.

Por eso, conseguir su nueva silla es urgente, no solo por comodidad, sino por su bienestar y seguridad física.

Sus terapeutas recomendaron la silla Leckey Mygo, un sistema altamente adaptable que puede ajustarse a sus necesidades, reducir el impacto en su columna y acompañar su crecimiento.

Esta silla medica (base y todos los accesorios necesarios para el soporte necesario para Valeria) tiene un costo de casi $US 7000. Tenemos 2000 en este momento.

Valeria is a bright, full of life, beauty and intelligence 16-year-old whose smile lights up every room she’s in.

She may not have full control of her body, but her spirit, intelligence, and joy inspire everyone who meets her.

Valeria was born with a brain injury was born with a brain injury — her medical diagnosis is agenesis of the corpus callosum and cerebral palsy.

This means that her muscle tone and control are affected throughout her body: she has spasticity in her limbs and low muscle tone in her trunk, neck, and head control.

Because of this, she has never been able to crawl, walk, or speak the way most of us do. But her mind is bright and fully present — she feels, understands, and connects deeply.

As she’s grown, the weight of her body has affected her spine and posture, and she now needs new support in several areas. Her current chair no longer safe or supportive, and recently, it broke down.

This makes getting the new chair a matter of urgency — not just for comfort, but for her well-being and physical safety.

Her therapists have recommended the Leckey Mygo Seat, a highly adaptive system that can be custom-built to her needs and adjusted as she grows.

Valeria spends most of her day in her chair — eating, learning, playing, and simply being part of life.
