Support Valeria Gomez & Family After Tragic Accident

Two days ago, our lives changed forever.

Our family is living through a nightmare we never imagined. After a devastating car accident on FM 491 and Mile 9 in Mercedes, Texas, two beautiful lives were lost. Among them was my wife Valeria Gomez's grandmother—her everything, her source of love, strength, and comfort. Valeria does not yet know of her passing.

While we grieve this unimaginable loss, my wife is fighting for her life. We had barely gotten married in February; she is my world. It hurts so much not to be able to be by her side.

She has undergone multiple emergency surgeries, including operations on her large intestine, stomach, leg, and spinal cord. She has also suffered severe injuries to her lower back. She remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition, facing life-threatening injuries. Every moment is uncertain, and our family is holding onto hope with everything we have.

I am thankful we survived the crash. My sister is helping narrate our story. I have endured devastating injuries. I have undergone hip replacement surgery, arm surgery where doctors worked to reconnect my nerves, and foot surgery. More surgeries are expected in the coming days as I continue to fight through a long and painful recovery.

Everything changed in an instant.

We are navigating overwhelming grief while watching our loved ones fight through pain, trauma, and uncertainty. No family is ever prepared for this kind of heartbreak. At the same time, we are facing an immense financial burden from medical expenses, surgeries, and the long-term care both Valeria and I will need.
