After further testing, my mom has officially been diagnosed with cancer. Our hearts are incredibly heavy as we process this news. In the coming weeks, she will begin chemotherapy, followed by surgery. Because of this, she will be out of work for an extended period of time as her body focuses on healing and recovery.

This season is not one we anticipated, and the financial burden continues to grow as medical needs increase and time away from work extends longer than we had hoped. We are humbly asking for continued support to help cover living expenses, medical costs, and basic needs during treatment and recovery.

We want to say—truly and deeply—thank you. We are completely and utterly grateful for every donation, every share, every prayer, and every message of encouragement. Your generosity has lifted such a weight from our family, and we have felt so loved and supported through all of this.

My mom, Valeri, is one of the hardest-working people I know. She raised three children as a single mother and has spent most of her life cleaning homes and helping elderly clients with daily tasks. She has always shown up for others, even when it meant putting herself last.

For the past five months, my mom has been experiencing severe abdominal and back pain. She’s seen countless doctors and specialists, but managing her pain has been extremely difficult. Due to the seriousness of her spinal condition, doctors have advised her not to work or do anything that could further aggravate it. As a result, she has been unable to work and has lost her primary source of income.

Doctors have recommended two surgeries. This week, after feeling extremely unwell, my mom underwent abdominal surgery. During the procedure, surgeons discovered a large abscess and significant inflammation in her intestines. Because of these unexpected findings, they were unable to complete the surgery she urgently needs. She is now being kept in the hospital for 4–5 days on strong IV antibiotics and will need to return early next year to undergo surgery once the infection has resolved.

In the meantime, my mom continues to miss work while medical bills and everyday expenses continue to pile up. This season has been incredibly overwhelming for her, both physically, mentally, and financially. Any support—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or prayers—would be such a blessing and would help lift a tremendous burden off her shoulders.
