Hi, I'm Sierra.
And this isn't about me, it's about Valentine.
Valentine is a sweet cat that wants to snuggle 24/7. At a little over a year and a half old now, until recently, she's been playful with our foster cats, loved chasing bugs, enjoyed grooming herself after meals, and loved to sleep next to me in bed.
But about a month ago she started having health issues. First, she was struggling to poop, resulting in two separate emergency visits and an enema. After the enema she could poop again and an xray confirmed there were no blockages, but she still wasn't grooming and didn't seem interested in playing anymore. She lost a full pound of weight, and didn't seem to want to eat.
I took her back in for more bloodwork, which I shared with a few different vets. One of them came back with a diagnosis: FIP.
Just a few years ago, FIP would have been a death sentence. Fortunately, today it isn't, but it is incredibly expensive to treat, and I'm looking at thousands of dollars to save this baby.
And she's absolutely worth it- but finances are tight here as they are in most homes, and so here I am asking you, if you have $5 extra dollars in your budget this month, will you please help me save Valentine's life?
While I doubt there will be any extra funds after paying for treatment, in the case that there is, all of it will be donated to Shady's Paw Animal Rescue, who have taken in multiple FIP cats this year to help them with some of their outstanding veterinary bills.
Updates will be posted throughout her treatment for anyone who'd like to follow along.
