Support Valentina's Battle Against Leukemia

Donation protected
Hey friends and family, as many of you know, our entire world has been changed in less than a month.

For a few months now Valentina has been having pain in her hip which had worsened and after MRI and Orthopedic appointments we were advised to go to a Hematologist. On April 8, 2024 what should have been a happy day since it was Ava’s 7th Birthday (granddaughter) it became our family’s worst nightmare. Valentina had an appointment at the hematologist which we thought would be in and out appointment, after some blood work we were told to rush to the hospital to get a blood transfusion and to get a bone marrow biopsy. Her platelets were at 10,000 and by the time we arrived to the hospital they were down to 5,000. We were told we would be in the hospital for 3 days, these 3 days turned into a month stay in the hospital after it was confirmed on April 12th that she had B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Life has changed in a matter of days for the whole family. Alex and I are living every parents worst nightmare, feeling the helplessness of not being able to protect our daughter from something that is causing her harm.

She has undergone her first spinal tap and will need to continue with weekly lumbar punctures. She is taking a combination of steroids, medication and chemotherapy all of which will help fight the disease in her body. At the same time it has dulled the spark that makes her uniquely her. Valentina’s strength through all of this is admirable. She is my HERO.

We know that Valentina is loved by many and she truly appreciates the support of family and friends who have already reached out and the care packages received.

We originally didn’t want to do a Go Fund Me but after careful consideration we have decided it was the smartest decision.

Leukemia treatment is $50,000+.
Insurance is helpful, but it only covers so much.

Expenses have been piling up, especially with only one salary coming in now that I have dedicated myself to being by her side everyday. My work family has been amazing and I’m still working from the hospital as much as can be expected but since part of my job was showing properties, doing inspections in homes, etc, my salary has been cut in half since I can no longer provide all of my time.

Alex is a self employed tow truck driver, so if he doesn’t work, we don’t get the bills paid. He has been working extremely hard to keep our family above water but due to this has not been able to visit Valentina as much as he would like in order to keep her healthy since his job is very hands on and dirty. It’s been extremely hard on him, In other words this has placed a strain on him and our family.

We recently bought a home and moved to Titusville, which comes with mortgage payments. Along with that, our new home is 45-50 minutes away from Orlando and the hospital. I’ve been having to go home to cook food for Valentina, do laundry, and take care of the ones I have at home. I usually do this 3-4 times a week, gas and travel cost has made these trips expensive.

No amount is too small. All funds will go directly to the care and well being of Valentina.

Thank you all in advance for helping us share Valentina’s story and your continued support.

Please continue to keep Valentina and our family in your prayers.
