Help Send Valence Robotics to the FIRST Championship in Houston!
We are Team 8429, Valence Robotics, a high school robotics team based in Durham, North Carolina, and we need your help to make our dream a reality! After an incredible season competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) North Carolina District, we’ve qualified for the prestigious 2025 FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas. This is an extraordinary opportunity for our team to showcase our skills on the global stage, but we need financial support to cover travel, lodging, and competition fees.
About Valence Robotics
Valence Robotics was founded in October 2021 with the mission of inspiring and empowering students through science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Our team is student-driven and committed to fostering leadership and innovation within our diverse community. Over the past few years, we’ve grown into a competitive force in the FRC community thanks to the dedication of our members and mentors, as well as the support of our sponsors like Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering.
Our 2025 Season Highlights
This year has been one of our strongest seasons yet! Some of our notable achievements include:
- Winning the Impact Award at the FNC District Catawba County Event, recognizing our efforts to inspire change and positively impact our community.
- Receiving the Judges’ Award at the FNC District Championship for our unique approach and outstanding performance.
- Ranking #4 overall in the North Carolina District with an impressive record of 33 wins, 14 losses, and 1 tie.
These accomplishments reflect not only our technical expertise but also our commitment to teamwork, creativity, and perseverance.
Why We Need Your Support
Attending the FIRST Championship is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of our team members. It’s a chance to compete against top teams from around the world, learn from industry professionals, and build connections that will shape their futures. However, the cost of travel to Houston, lodging for our team members, and event registration fees is significant. As a nonprofit organization run by students, we rely on generous contributions from supporters like you to make this possible.
How You Can Help
Your donation will directly support:
- Travel expenses: Flights or transportation for team members and mentors.
- Lodging costs: Housing accommodations during the multi-day event.
- Competition fees: Registration costs for participating in this prestigious championship.
Every dollar counts and brings us closer to achieving our goal. Whether you can contribute $10 or $100, your support will make a difference!
