My name is Jam, and I am raising funds for a member of my chosen family, Val Ramirez. Our dearest friend Val is in need of mutual aid so she can get back on track to a healthy and sustainable life. Val is a trans artist of color who works around NYC, building and showing up for our community. Her art involves story telling of queer and trans experiences through multimedia. She is also a loving cat mom and cherished friend. After multiple attempts to get care, job loss, housing insecurity, and deteriorating physical/ mental health, we are turning to our community for help. Val has been to recovery these last few weeks, and will be back on her own when she is discharged from treatment. Please help support her as she begins this next chapter to a safer and healthier life. We are asking folks to donate any amount they can to help get Val’s basic needs met while she searches for a stable job & home. We’d love to continue this fundraiser and help Val put a deposit + a few months rent down on a new apartment.
