A new mom. A new Cancer diagnosis. A fight no family expects.

A few months ago, my wife, Vaishnavi became a mother. In June 2025, she delivered our baby via C-section. She was still recovering, still trying to regain strength, still learning the rhythms of new motherhood, still doing the quiet, everyday work it takes to care for a baby while her own body was healing.

And then our world shifted in December 2025.

Vaishnavi has been diagnosed with aggressive, triple-positive invasive Breast Carcinoma. Since the diagnosis, doctors have discussed a full treatment plan, and the reality is clear - this is not a short chapter. It is a long, multi-phase journey that will take ~15 months of time, endurance, and support.

Her treatment path includes chemotherapy + targeted therapy, then surgery (either mastectomy or lumpectomy, based on what the doctors determine is best), followed by radiation, then continued targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy for many years. It is a long road - not just physically, but emotionally, month after month, step after step.

Before all of this, Vaishnavi was a primary school teacher, touching countless students with patience, warmth, and care - the kind of teacher families remember for years. She has always been someone who gives. And now, in the most vulnerable season of her life, she needs that care back.

On top of everything, this diagnosis has changed even the most basic parts of early motherhood. She cannot breastfeed our baby now, and the heartbreak of that is hard to put into words - especially when she was still healing from childbirth herself. She is trying to stay strong for our baby while also carrying the fear, the uncertainty, and the exhaustion that comes with cancer care.

Right now, our priority is simple: keep Vaishnavi supported, stable, and surrounded by care - so she can put her energy into healing and being present for our baby.

We created this fundraiser because the financial load of cancer is heavy. Not all of her treatment and related needs will be covered by insurance. This will also help in covering family travel costs ($8k), medication ($tbd), insurance excluded treatment for Genetic Testing ($7k), Radiationtherpay ($tbd), many unforeseen.
