Hello there,
Mary is my name, God saved my son and took my husband, so it’s been a pretty tough time in my life. I’m reaching out on behalf of my son, Miguel "Uzi" Montgomery. Many of you know Uzi as a talented tattoo artist and who's brought so much creativity and joy into people's lives, but now he's facing some real tough challenges and we need your help to get him through it.
In the early hours of January 5, 2026, Uzi was driving South after spending time up North caring for me after I lost my husband. Exhausted, mentally and physically, Uzi was determined to make it home. The accident happened so fast, his life flashed before his eyes. Thankfully, the adrenaline kicked in and a good samaritan pulled over. He quickly pulled him out before the car caught on fire and burned up.
After a week-long stay at the hospital, Uzi is stable, but the crash left him with serious injuries. He has a fractured sternum, multiple fractured ribs, and a minor tear in his esophagus. We're incredibly grateful that he's still here, I don’t think I could have handled it. His road to recovery will be long and difficult. Doctors estimated 6-12 weeks before normal activities, and as a self-employed tattoo artist, this means he'll be out of work for months.
Unfortunately, life goes on and the bills keep coming. Miguel has always lent a helping hand, whether through his work, friendship, or just being that reliable man when you need one. Now, it's our turn to give back. Donations large or small are appreciated during his recovery period and sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your prayers, support and generosity.
Thank you,
Mary Steele (Miguel’s Mom)
