Hello dear friends:

We've been making preparation for this film for nearly a year. It is a story of a young Uyghur man’s life in exile after losing contact with his family members. We have received funding from a few organizations, but not quite enough for the entire production process. So we decided to ask for help from those of you who care about the Uyghurs and the work that we’re doing. Our goal is to reach $10,000.

If you have any interest in Uyghur culture or the Uyghur film industry, then please consider a contribution. Your small act of kindness will greatly enhance this film, you will not be disappointed. This film will open your eyes to stories from a beautiful and marginalized people group

The film will be released on March 21st, 2023. All donors will be listed in the end credits and receive a steamable/ download link to the film, and donors who give $100 or more contributions will receive special thanks and additional gifts as shown below:

Summary

Shirzat, an Uyghur international student who has just graduated from college in the United States, had big dreams for his future prior to undertaking his education. He had planned to return to his homeland to take over his father's business, marry his long-term girlfriend, build a happy family, and become a successful entrepreneur. But with the sudden implementation of China's arbitrary mass abduction policy, millions of Uyghurs, like his father, were taken and have disappeared. For Shirzat, who wasn’t able to pursue his studies due to the crisis back home, this was tragic. He felt he had been thrown from the sky to the ground. With finances in ruins, his father missing, his family in danger, his relationship hanging by a thread, he soon spiraled into a cloud of depression and compulsive attention to politics. He withdrew from his relationships with his friends and put his life on hold while struggling to overcome his painful reality and searching for hope in the midst of it.
