Support UWF Student Engineers Build a Trebuchet.
Donation protected
We are a group of engineering students at the University of West Florida working to build a functional trebuchet by the end of Spring 2025 in order to learn the engineering design process.
We are planning on making our trebuchet launch a 25-pound projectile a max of 150 yards and be capable of hitting a target accurately at least 100 yards away. With our initial calculations, we are going to need a 2-ton counterweight on an 8.5-foot beam, which will require a sturdy 20-foot tall structure. With all this in mind, it is going to cost a substantial amount of funds to ensure the safety and reliability of our design.
After ensuring the safety of our design, we plan on bringing it to the Pensacola Renaissance Fair to launch pumpkins for the public's viewing pleasure.
