Hello, my name is Michelle. I am 20 years old and currently in my undergraduate studies for biology on the pre-med track. I had the most amazing opportunity to be one of the 12 students selected in my department to travel abroad in Urbino, Italy. Unfortunately, my financial aid and scholarships will not come in time for my first initial down payments. In order for me to secure my spot, I need to pay my fees by the deadlines they provided for me. Studying abroad will allow me to continue embracing different ways of life, deepening my global awareness, and strengthening the cultural appreciation that has been an essential part of my identity. Now, this study abroad program is my chance to turn that dream into reality. Beyond fulfilling a long-held aspiration, I see this as an opportunity for personal and academic growth. My goals for my time abroad include building confidence, improving my Italian, and gaining clarity about my future, especially whether the medical field is truly the right path for me. I am eager to explore Italy’s contributions to science and medicine. Italy is home to some of the most influential advancements in healthcare, and experiencing its educational approach firsthand will broaden my perspective on global medicine. Studying in Italy will allow me to step outside my comfort zone, immerse myself in a culture I’ve admired for years, help me grow into a more confident future medical professional, and gain new perspectives that will shape both my personal and professional journey.
