My college classmate Dilsad Meraler’s husband, Umut Utku, recently survived a massive heart attack on December 28th. The experience was terrifying for their family, and he spent four nights in the hospital receiving critical care. While his recovery is a blessing, the journey ahead is filled with challenges, as he will continue to need ongoing medical attention and support. Unfortunately, they do not have health insurance coverage, and as many know, healthcare costs in America can be overwhelming. The hospital bills have already started to arrive, and the cost of necessary medications is quickly piling up. The financial burden is growing each day, making it difficult for them to focus on healing and moving forward.

Utku has always been a healthy eater and led an active life, but the unimaginable happened. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering immediate hospital bills, ongoing medical care, and the expensive medications he needs.
