My name is Lee Hutchinson, and I am raising funds on behalf of Uthmaan and his family.
Uthmaan is a brave young boy who has been fighting Stage 4 leukaemia. Last year, he went through months of intensive treatment, and on 6 June, he was meant to ring the bell, the moment every cancer family dreams of.
But Uthmaan has relapsed, the cancer is back, and this time stronger than ever. When asked about how he felt about his situation, he said he wanted to give up, because they were all alone with no hope.
He now faces intensive treatment again until June this year. Despite everything, he remains strong always smiling, always trying to be brave, even when the journey feels endless.
As if this wasn’t enough, his mom Raeesah recently shared devastating news:
They are about to lose their home.
The elderly woman they are living with is moving into a care facility, leaving Uthmaan and his mom with nowhere safe to go. Raeesah is on the waiting list for an RDP home and is willing to relocate anywhere just to secure a safe roof over her son’s head while he undergoes treatment.
But Uthmaan’s struggles don’t end there:
His father is a 50% bone marrow match but refuses to donate or provide any financial support. They have no support from family, and he is being bullied at school for having cancer.
Your support can make a real difference. I am acting as a vessel to raise funds, and 100% of proceeds will go to the KidsCan Cancer Foundation in South Africa, who will ensure:
Uthmaan and his mom get a safe new home
All essential furniture and items for moving in are provided
Essential treatments and support is covered to give Uthmaan the best chance of beating cancer
Any remaining funds will support other children under the KidsCan Cancer Foundation, giving them the care, stability, and hope they urgently need.
Every donation brings hope, safety, and relief to a family who has already endured more than anyone should.
Let’s remind Uthmaan he’s not fighting alone. Every contribution counts.
