The USGAA South East Hurling Team is preparing to travel to Ireland to compete in the 2026 GAA World Games. Representing the Southeast USA on an international stage is an incredible honor for our players, coaches, and supporters, and we are proud to bring American hurling to the birthplace of the sport.
Hurling is Ireland’s ancient national game and is widely recognized as one of the oldest and fastest field sports in the world. Every three years, teams from around the globe gather in Ireland to compete in the World Games, celebrating Irish culture, community, and athletic excellence. Our Southeast team has earned the opportunity to stand alongside those teams and compete against the best in the world. For our players, this is more than just a tournament; it’s the chance to represent their region, their clubs, and their families. Countless hours of training, travel, dedication, and teamwork have gone into reaching this point, and now we need your help to make the journey possible.
As an amateur sport, every player is responsible for covering their own expenses. Costs for international travel, accommodations, tournament registration, transportation, equipment, and uniforms add up quickly, and many of our athletes are balancing work, school, and family responsibilities while pursuing this dream. Our goal is to ensure that every deserving player has the opportunity to compete, regardless of financial circumstances.
