Support us to expand our Australian Wildlife Shelter.

Hello all,

I'd like to introduce myself.
I'm Tania and the Founder of Peechelba Wildlife Rescue Shelter.

I have been rescuing, rehabilitating, caring and releasing wildlife for 4 years. In this time we have had a real shift within the wildlife community around my area. Unfortunately we have had 4 beautiful carers/shelters close down for different reasons, mainly health related and due to their age. We have lost some amazing mentors as well, their families weren't in a situation to keep the shelters open.

As we are a self funded Wildlife Shelter we rely upon the generosity of our followers and community to help.
There's no government funding for wildlife shelters. We do apply for a grant but that is not always guaranteed to qualify.

Wildlife shelters vary, some only do birds or possums, some only rescue and then find the wildlife a place to stay, one of the shelters only handles pinky joey's.
Peechelba Wildlife Rescue Shelter provides care to all Wildlife (but not snakes) Kangaroos, Koalas, Possums, Wombats, Gliders, Birds, Lizards.
Last year's "Joey season " was a huge mission in itself.

Between the months of March - October I had 48 kangaroo joey's, 17 possum joey's, 4 koalas, 5 Wallaby joey's, 3 Wombat joey's, 4 Echidnas plus birds and reptiles come through our doors.

I take joey's up to 5kg mark as I am unable to release from my home. From here they go to their forever home where they get soft released from that shelter

Ideally I would love to have 2 site offices on our property so that we can expand our wildlife intake and make it a more safe, quiet, secure environment for them to be able to be treated away from sights and sounds of our home. Also allowing me to have volunteers in to assist.
I am hoping to raise enough funds for 2 x 6mL x 3mW x 2.8mh site office with power, lighting, sink and reverse cycle air-conditioning.
One being for a treatment room that will have my humidity crib, heat Box, medical table and supplies in for injured wildlife.
The other one will be for feeding the wildlife that have been orphaned and where volunteers can help care for them.

The costs for a second hand site office are approximately $8500 plus $1100 delivery fee.
I do have some trades people that will be able to connect the utilities as needed.

Thank you all for your time in reading our mission.

Peechelba Wildlife Rescue Shelter is a small shelter with big hearts.

Together we can make a real difference to our Australian Wildlife.
