We’re not usually the type to ask for help, but right now, we genuinely need your support.

As many of you know, Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in October 2024—just weeks after our wedding. The journey to recovery has been long and painful. Unfortunately, in June 2025, we received heartbreaking news: Anne has extensive, incurable secondary bone cancer.

Anne is currently awaiting a major operation on her hip and femur, where the cancer has caused significant damage. But, three weeks ago, she was hospitalised with sepsis and had to undergo emergency surgery to remove her recently reconstructed breast. These complications have delayed Anne’s treatments and upcoming surgeries, making things even more challenging.

We’ve been advised that Anne cannot return to our current home, as our future living situation needs to be a bungalow—more accessible and safer for her needs. Thankfully, we were able to secure one this week. While it’s in a good location, it requires a lot of work to make it livable.

This is where we truly need your help. Anne is unable to work at the moment, and Dan’s hours have been greatly reduced as he takes on the role of full-time carer—handling everything practically, emotionally, and financially.

Also, as many of you know, Anne escaped from the religious cult which she was born into back in 2013 and as a result her whole family including her, now adult, children have ostracised her. Therefore she has no emotional or financial support from them.

Update: Anne has now undergone her operation and has recovered well although this has limited her mobility extensively. In November Anne got sepsis again and we almost lost her and are thankful for all the work of the NHS to get her back home.

This latest episode has set Anne back significantly and her treatment has been postponed yet again.
