The U.S. Blind Tandem Cycling Connection is raising funds to modernize our website, Bicycling Blind. Updating our website will improve accessibility and usability for all cyclists, making it easier for riders to find each other and share the ride.
When the website was created in 2011, it was the first website in the country—and possibly the world—designed to connect people who are blind/visually impaired with sighted individuals to participate together in physical activity/sports. While many sports could have benefitted from such a website, we chose to focus on bicycling. Our work has been recognized in newspapers and magazines.
The total cost of the website update is $8,000. We paid the first 50% of the invoice to begin the work. We are seeking support to pay the remaining $4,000, that is due upon completion of the project.
I appreciate any amount that you can donate. Every dollars contribues to ensure that our website continues to help blind/visually impaired persons to enjoy the freedom and community of tandem cycling. Our website was designed by Todd Thille, of Synesthete Studio, who will also be completing the modernization.
