We, Garima Gautam, Ichhya Regmi, and Ritika Shah, third-year law students pursuing B.B.M.-LL.B. and B.Ec.-LL.B. at Kathmandu University (KU), Nepal, are honored to represent our institution at the 45th edition of the Jean-Pictet Competition. We are reaching out to seek your support in funding our participation in this esteemed event.
The competition, scheduled from February 8th to February 15th, 2025, in Antalya, Turkey, is a unique hands-on traineeship in International Humanitarian Law (IHL), also known as the Law of Armed Conflict. This prestigious platform has been fostering global understanding of IHL since 1989 and is crucial for promoting its relevance to contemporary issues.
Unfortunately, participation comes with significant financial challenges. The registration fee alone is €1250 (USD 1364.28/AU$ 2117.43), and this does not include airfare or additional expenses. This is where we need your help. Your support, no matter how small, will enable us to participate in this transformative experience and bring the knowledge and skills back to our community.
Despite these hurdles, we are determined. We have surpassed other teams at our university to secure this opportunity, demonstrating our dedication and potential. Additionally, as IHL is not part of our curriculum, this competition is vital for us to gain practical knowledge and the skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to the Human Rights and Humanitarian Law landscape in Nepal.
This is where we need your help. Your support, no matter how small, will enable us to participate in this transformative experience and bring the knowledge and skills back to our community.
Note: GoFundMe does not directly support donations into Nepal. Therefore, a close family member in Australia is managing this crowdfunding effort on our behalf.
Thank you for fueling our dreams and helping us make this journey possible!
