For the past 10 months, Sol et Soleil was our whole world.

What started as a dream between two young chefs became a small restaurant filled with regulars, celebrations, music, late nights, laughter, and so much love from our community. We put everything we had into building this place and creating something special in Brooklyn.

On Wednesday May 13th, we were suddenly forced to close our doors much sooner than we ever expected.

We truly believed we would have more time to keep growing, improving, and providing incredible experiences to all who walked through our doors. Instead, the closure happened very suddenly and left us trying to manage the aftermath overnight.

Over the past week, we packed up the entire restaurant, moved everything into storage, cleaned the space, and handed back the keys. During all of this, the amount of love and support we received has been overwhelming. Customers brought us flowers, cards, gifts, hugs, and messages reminding us how much Sol et Soleil meant to them. So many people have reached out asking how they can help us during this difficult transition.

After a lot of hesitation, we decided to create this GoFundMe.

The funds raised will help us:

* cover essential business obligations,

* pay outstanding taxes and closure-related expenses,

* manage loan repayments and bills left behind after the sudden shutdown

Both of us are already back to working and doing everything we can to move forward and reopen in the future, but the sudden loss of all restaurant income has made this transition incredibly difficult.
