I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support for some truly remarkable people in Jamaica. As many of you know, Jamaica is my happy place, and during my first visit in 2018, I met what I now consider my Jamaican family. They are incredibly kind, God-fearing individuals who have always gone above and beyond for me and others. Now, they are facing immense challenges after a Category 5 hurricane devastated the island.
It's my turn, and with your help, OUR turn to help them in their time of need. I understand that times are difficult for everyone, and I'm not expecting a large contribution, but any amount you can spare would be deeply appreciated. Every little bit truly counts and will add up.
As those who know me can attest, I am a proud person and not one to usually ask for help. However, I am making an exception for my Jamaican family (NOT MY SOON TO BE EX IN-LAWS - Didn't want anyone to think I lost it - I am crazy but not that crazy LOL). I am planning to fly out to Jamaica within the next week or so, and my immediate goal is to bring two or three suitcases filled with food to provide them with instant relief. I offered to send them money, but they specifically requested food over money for right now. I can only take it to them personally by catching a flight and delivering it; it's the only way right now. Any other way will take too long and will give them relief because of the difficulty accessing banks and ATMs, and the limited availability and inflated prices of necessities.
With any additional funds raised, I hope to return home and send barrels filled with other much-needed essential supplies. The immediate need, however, is food.
If you are a friend or acquaintance, or even a stranger... I am genuinely begging for your help. Your generosity will not only be met with my eternal gratitude and theirs but, most importantly, God will repay you.
