We have decided to go ahead and use our last option and have the recommended brain surgery. It’s an emergency surgery (not a lot of time for planning) this Monday, May 5th, 2025.
If you are new to our journey, we had our first brain surgery about 14 years ago. I had a tumor about the size of my fist removed. At that time, it wasn’t cancer.
About 3 years ago, I needed to have a second surgery and tumor removed. This time, it was cancer.
After recovering from the surgery for six weeks, I went back to stay at the Mayo for radiation for 7 weeks.
After radiation, the cancer came back in just 10 months. We then began experimental chemo drugs. Those worked for about two years before my body built up a tolerance to them.
Last month, we tried a regular, very strong chemo, and it did nothing.
We were left with two choices: one last surgery or only 3-4 months to live.
We have decided to give surgery one last try.
I will be at home recovering, not working. As you can imagine, the bills that come along with not just having a family but also the traveling and medical care costs to make this possible.
If you can donate to make things easier for my family, I sure would appreciate it!
Thank you for all the love and support.
