My name is Arloa Fluhr and I am a barista at the Union Starbucks store on Main & Vine Street in Urbana, Illinois. Back in May of 2023, our store voted to join Starbucks Worker’s United and join the fight for a strong first labor contract that includes a fair living wage, guaranteed quality and affordable healthcare, and better staffing and working conditions. Over this last year, Starbucks and our Union have made significant progress towards this contract, however the company REFUSES to bring to the table a respectable offer regarding most crucial issues of wages and guaranteed healthcare. As a store, we have started this GoFundMe to help us continue our fight for a strong first labor contract.
