Support UpLand Grading & Septic's Community Efforts

Hurricane Helene ripped through WNC leaving massive amounts of destruction in her path. The destruction is intense, widespread and far greater than the government organizations can keep up with or handle. Community roots are deep in these mountains and countless individuals and small businesses have showed up and volunteered their time, resources and equipment to the process of cleaning up and rebuilding. The needs here in Marshall and surrounding areas are extensive. While we would love nothing more than continuing to volunteer our time supporting our community and others around us, our machines cost money to run, materials cost money and we have families at home to support. With your help, we will continue to support clean up and relief efforts while also supporting our families and keeping our business and our machines running. Please consider helping us to offer our services to those in need all over Western North Carolina.
My name is Russel Swinney, owner of UpLand Grading & Septic LLC and a Marshall, NC resident. I am starting this fundraiser with a goal of raising funds to help us in helping our local community and surrounding communities gain back what they once had or a resemblance of what it was before Hurricane Helene hit our communities.
These funds will assist us in keeping our small local business in operation as well as purchasing materials for repairs that may not be covered by FEMA or insurance for individuals who may not have funds for these repairs. These funds will help communities gain access to their homes, clean up debris that may have been removed from buildings and homes, reshape and provide drainage work, repair septic systems, and restore land preventing further erosion that may increase the risk of damages to properties.
We take our work seriously and highly value our quality of work. We have dedicated the past few weeks towards the Marshall, NC cleanup and want to continue providing our services for our communities while still providing for our employees and families and ensuring our business stays in operation. With an average of $5k/week operational costs excluding any profit margin or materials, it's not easy to break away from the daily grind. These funds will help us stay in business at a minimal cost and allow us to purchase materials such as soil, aggregate, drainage materials, and road access materials. Our goal is to help our communities thrive again. Moving from one community to the next is our goal and with your help, we can continue to make a difference.
Help others in need with a business that has the potential to move mountains, build roads, and regain at least a resemblance of what once was and will be: our properties, homes, and future!
