# Help Bring "Unreached Things" Off-Broadway

Hi everyone,
My name is Chris Mathis, and I am an emerging playwright, actor, and nurse with a deep love for storytelling that creates connection, healing, and honest conversation. I have recently been given an incredible opportunity: my original play, "Unreached Things", has been selected for production as part of an Off-Broadway festival in New York City through Circle Festival at RJ Theatre.

"Unreached Things" is a deeply personal and intimate story about grief, love, independence, and what it means to move forward while still carrying the people we have lost. It explores the conversations we avoid, the emotions we hold onto, and the quiet ways we learn to survive. My hope has always been for audiences to leave my work feeling seen, understood, and a little less alone.

This opportunity includes six performances in Manhattan, professional production photography and video, festival marketing, and the chance to share this story with new audiences and theatre professionals in one of the world's most celebrated theatre communities. I am also honored to be taking this journey alongside Cortney Warner, a professional actress and fellow Chattanooga artist who will be performing in the production. Having the opportunity for two local theatre artists to represent Chattanooga on an Off-Broadway stage makes this experience even more meaningful.

What makes this opportunity especially significant is that our goal is not simply to take "Unreached Things" to New York, it's to bring it back home. We hope to use this experience to build relationships, learn from artists across the country, and return to Chattanooga with a stronger production that can continue connecting with audiences in the city that helped shape us as artists.

As independent theatre artists, producing work on this level comes with significant expenses. We are currently raising funds to help support the production, travel, and other costs associated with bringing this story to the New York stage. If you feel moved to support this journey, any contribution, regardless of size, would mean more than we can express. Your support is not only helping fund a production; it is helping invest in Chattanooga artists, new theatrical work, and stories centered on humanity, vulnerability, and connection.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others would be an incredible gift and a meaningful way to support the project.

Thank you for believing in artists, new work, and the power of theatre to bring people together. We are grateful for every person who joins us on this journey from Chattanooga to New York, and back again.

With gratitude,

Christopher Mathis
