Fuel the launch of a global visibility movement for Black neurodivergent women.
"UNMASKED” is both film and ancestral tech — a docuseries & movement by a queer autistic vegan filmmaker reclaiming voice, legacy, and representation on a global scale.
UNMASKED: A Global Black Autistic Movement:
A docuseries, a digital ecosystem, and an act of ancestral autonomy.
UNMASKED is more than a film. It’s a living record of what happens when a Black autistic woman finally steps into her voice.
My name is Natalee Eason.
I’m a Black, queer, autistic, epileptic, self-taught filmmaker, photographer, storyteller, and solopreneur.
For the past year and a half, I’ve been nomadic — building an entire digital ecosystem across countries with my self-trained service dog by my side.
I’ve filmed 11,000+ hours of footage across borders, documenting movement, solitude, extreme sports, artistry, and the ancestral memory that carried me long before I had the word “autistic.”
UNMASKED is the film I’ve been creating my whole life — even before I understood that my silence, stimming, and creativity were my first languages.
How UNMASKED Grew into a Global Ecosystem:
UNMASKED didn’t stay a film.
It expanded — into a complete digital ecosystem for Black neurodivergent women worldwide.
Built entirely by me.
Autistic.
Nomadic.
Learning everything alone from scratch.
Airbnb to Airbnb.
No team.
No funding.
Just calling.
This is what I’ve already built — with nearly nothing:
✔ 7-Day Self-Love Course + Community (Live)
A trauma-informed, sensory-aware course created for Black and BIPOC neurodivergent women.
It includes:
• Daily lessons on unmasking, self-compassion, and regulation
• A private community + in-lesson discussions
• A 10page Mindfulness Meditation Guide I wrote and recorded myself
✔ Neurodivergent 60-Card Deck + 12-Week Course (Live for Pre-Sale)
A guided journey through 60 traits many of us were never taught to recognize as neurodivergence.
Built around my original M.A.M.M.A.L. framework
(Movement • Ancestry • Mindfulness • Masking Awareness • Advocacy Through Action • Love as Leadership).
Each card becomes a week in the 12-week course, with:
• Video lessons
• Journaling prompts
• Cultural reflections
• Sensory-aware practices
It is designed for late-identified and undiagnosed adults who spent decades masking without language.
✔ The Convenient Vegan Digital Cookbook ( Waitlist Open)
A plant-based digital cookbook & minicourse for healing neurodivergent nervous systems & reclaiming autonomy.
Right now, you can preview the project through my lead-magnet essay and join the waitlist for launch.
✔ Neurodivergent Retreat Abroad #1 (Live on SquadTrip)
A plant-based, sensory-considerate retreat abroad for ND Black women.
Applications are open.
This is what healing in motion looks like when our needs are centered.
✔ND & Queer Travel Guides — digital guides series from intentionally filmed nomadic adventures abroad, showing how we travel the world unmasked.
✔ Full Ecosystem Website & Homepage — No assistant or Fiverr
The Vegan Soul Tribe homebase is now live, housing:
• UNMASKED
• The M.A.M.M.A.L. framework
• Courses, retreats, and resources
• The “Learn • Support • Experience” pathways
• The free Director’s Notes & UNMASKED Manifesto for anyone wanting to study the project in depth.
• Full digital autonomy infrastructure
All of this has been built by one autistic woman — moving across countries with a camera, a laptop, and a service dog — without institutional funding or stability.
This is the digital proof that Black autistic women build global legacies when we are given space to breathe.
Why I’m Raising Funds Now
I’ve built an entire autistic-led digital ecosystem on my own — but right now, I’m still a one-woman studio holding all of it together while living abroad, covering housing and basics every few weeks, without family support or institutional backing.
This fund is not about rescuing me.
It’s about stabilizing a movement that already exists — so it doesn’t collapse just as it’s beginning to serve the people it was built for.
Your support will allow me to:
1. Keep the Digital Ecosystem Stable & Accessible
• Website and course platform hosting
• Secure storage for 11,000+ hours of UNMASKED footage
• Editing tools, email systems, and automation platforms
• Accessibility tools like captioning, transcripts, and alt text
2. Finish and Distribute the UNMASKED Trailer
• Editing, color, sound, and score
• Festival submissions and industry outreach
• Building the bridge toward producers and partners, including:
Ava DuVernay, Issa Rae, Tyler Perry, Dee Rees, Raven Jemison, and others
3. Maintain Safety and Stability While I Build
• Safe, short-term housing
• Food and essentials
• Care and supplies for my self-trained service dog, my partner in regulation and a co-character in this story
4. Continue Growing the Vegan Soul Tribe Ecosystem
• Marketing for retreats
• Course rollouts
• Community-building
• Content creation
• Expanding resources for Black neurodivergent women globally
5. (Secondary) Pursue Neurological Evaluation Abroad
Not for validation —
for clarity, empowerment, and accuracy as part of the documentary.
This is a piece of the story, not the center of the fundraiser or film.
Why Support & Representation Still Matter
For decades, autism research barely saw Black women.
A landmark review of autism research found that across 77 years of studies, only 3 studies even named Black autistic women and girls.
None of them addressed race, gender & disability intersectionally. They were ignored entirely.
The result?
- We are under-diagnosed, misdiagnosed, or ignored.
- Our meltdowns get treated as attitude or aggression.
- Our gifts get used, but our needs never get named.
- Our stories rarely make it to the screen — and when they do, they’re often written by people who’ve never lived what we live.
- A lifetime of masking with no language for it
UNMASKED exists to correct that erasure.
This film isn’t asking for funding because I am Black and autistic.
It’s asking for funding because for nearly a century, our stories have been left out, misunderstood, or misrepresented — and there is a moral responsibility to change that.
You don’t have to fully understand “why Black” to understand exclusion. The data already proved it.
UNMASKED is here to bring visibility, truth, and lived experience to a place where none existed.

Your contribution supports:
• Black autistic filmmakers
• ND Black women seeking representation
• Autistic-led media
• Accessible creative liberation
• A movement centered on truth, artistry, and lineage
Every dollar builds proof that Black autistic creatives exist, create, direct, and lead and deserve to be funded, filmed, and free — while building autistic-led media and healing platforms for the next generation of Black neurodivergent creatives.
