Hello Fellow Community!
UNLV ASCE is trying to raise funds for our Steel Bridge Team, who were invited to this years 2024 AISC National Student Steel Bridge Competition hosted in Ruston, Louisiana from May 31st to June 2nd!
Some Background about us/the competition:
- This would be the 3rd steel bridge and Team to go to Nationals in a very long time in UNLV history!
- The competition itself allows for an exciting combination of structural design, fabrication and athletic prowess combined with on the field assembly of an actual scale steel bridge.
- This group of undergraduates managed to qualify for finals based on their hard work and remarkable team composition.
- Not to mention that the majority of the team members are women in STEM, which is incredible since this competition is usually a male-dominated one since it relies heavily on physical strength in the live competition phase.
- They are proud to be REBELS and are proud to be representing not only their State but also their university!
