Building Coworking Spaces for Gaza Youth to E-Learn & Work

These spaces are more than just rooms with desks. They are lifelines—places where Gaza’s youth can attend virtual university classes, complete assignments, gain skills, earn income through freelance work, and begin rebuilding their futures—even as war continues around them.

Our partners at BuildPalestine are adopting this campaign through the Nourishing Hope for Gaza initiative, which supports trusted, impactful community efforts on the ground — delivering tangible aid and fostering hope amid the devastation. BuildPalestine is a Palestinian organization dedicated to empowering social innovators to sustainably address community challenges.

Since August 2024, we’ve been on the ground in Gaza, building safe, solar-powered coworking spaces that give displaced university students and recent graduates access to online education and remote work. In the midst of a total infrastructure collapse—no electricity, no internet, no classrooms—we’ve created learning havens fueled by resilience and determination.

In response to this crisis, the Gaza Education Hub was established to support displaced university students and recent graduates in Gaza. Over the past months, we have made significant strides in providing safe, well-equipped learning spaces and the resources necessary to help students continue their education.

Our Achievements:

Opening of Two Educational Hubs in South Gaza: We have successfully opened two educational hubs in southern Gaza, currently serving 800 students. These hubs are powered by solar energy, providing students with reliable electricity and a safe, quiet space to study. The hubs are equipped with high-speed internet, ensuring students can access their online classes and study materials without interruptions.

New Branch in North Gaza: We are proud to announce that we have recently opened a new educational hub in northern Gaza, currently serving 120 students. This branch provides much-needed relief to students in the northern part of Gaza, giving them access to a stable, resource-rich environment for their education.

Serving Displaced Students: Our hubs have become vital lifelines for displaced students, offering them stability and the opportunity to continue their academic journeys in the midst of adversity. The spaces we have created are not just for studying—they are sanctuaries of hope and resilience for students determined to keep learning.

Providing Essential Study Resources: We’ve ensured that students have access to digital libraries, study materials, and key academic platforms like Moodle, which are critical for remote learning. Many students had lost access to their textbooks and educational resources due to the ongoing conflict, but thanks to your support, we've been able to bridge that gap.

Psychological Support and Mentorship: We understand the emotional toll this crisis has taken on students. We’ve organized counseling sessions and stress management workshops to help students cope with trauma, build resilience, and stay motivated as they pursue their education.

Why we need your support

To keep our coworking spaces running, we urgently need your support to cover monthly operational costs for the next 6 months. Due to the ongoing blockade and the sharp rise in prices across Gaza, even covering basic expenses has become increasingly difficult.

Each month, we must cover a total of $2,700 just to keep our hubs open and functional—spaces that hundreds of displaced students rely on to continue their education and freelance work.

In addition, we are preparing to launch targeted training sessions for new graduates who graduated during the war focused on their academic fields. These sessions will help them sharpen their skills, regain confidence, and access remote job opportunities so they can support their families and rebuild their futures despite the crisis.
