In Loving Memory of Unique Sharlett Valdez

On November 14th, 2025, just one week after celebrating her 25th birthday, our beloved Unique Sharlett Valdez gained her wings. Born on November 8th, 2000, Unique touched every life around her with her bright smile, loud laugh, and the unforgettable jokes that could brighten even the darkest days.

For the past 10 years, Unique battled addiction, a painful, complicated journey that so many face in silence. But we want to honor her truth and share it openly, because her story can help others. Unique fought so hard for her life, and she did it. She got clean on her own. She went into treatment, she sought help, and she was doing better. She was finding joy again.

Her mother shared that Unique did want to live, she did want to be clean, and she was clean. But someone triggered her, causing her to relapse and that one moment took her from us. We share this not with anger, but with honesty, in hopes that someone who is struggling might see themselves in her story and choose to keep fighting. And to the families who have lost someone in the same way, we send our love, understanding, and prayers. You are not alone.

Unique leaves behind her precious baby boy, Israel, who will be 2 years old on January 5th. She also leaves behind her brothers, her niece who adored her, and countless friends and family who loved her deeply. She dreamed of doing nails professionally and becoming a role model for her niece. She had a heart of gold and would do absolutely anything for the people she loved.

Anyone who knew Unique knew her favorite food was green enchiladas. She loved to snack, and you’d always catch her eating cereal, and no matter what kind it was, she always had to add extra sugar. These small things, the warmth of her presence, her humor, her love, and her spirit are what we will hold onto forever.

We are asking for help to lay Unique to rest the way she truly deserves.
No donation is too small, and anything you can give from the kindness of your heart will help us give her a beautiful farewell and bring peace to our family during this painful time.

Thank you for your love, your support, your prayers, and for honoring Unique’s life with us.

May her memory live forever, and may her story bring strength to anyone who needs it.
