Support Unhoused ALU Organizer Carina Secure an Apartment
Donation protected
A fierce advocate for immigrant workers at Amazon and vital leader of the Amazon Labor Union, Amazon worker Carina* needs our support. Repeatedly injured by the grueling work at Amazon, Carina has been unable to return to full-time work in the warehouse for months, and as a result lost her housing.
After being evicted from her home, Carina has been staying in a shelter in Brooklyn, commuting for over 2 hours each way to Staten Island to work the few shifts she is able to while recovering from her injury.
This is an urgent call for support, because right now Carina's job is also at risk. With the Trump administration’s termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for many countries, Carina is facing the likelihood of losing her job entirely. Despite ongoing battles in the courts over possible extensions, Amazon has been preemptively firing TPS-holders.
Carina's community is organizing a GoFundMe so that Carina can move out of the shelter and into an apartment, pay for medical appointments as she heals from her injuries, & sustain herself after possible job-loss.
Please give what you can & share widely! If you're able to provide monthly support in addition to a one-time contribution, please go to tinyurl.com/supportcarina.
Thank you! Solidarity.
