My uncle has endured more pain than anyone should in a lifetime. Since the age of just three, he was forced by my grandfather to work under abusive and exhausting conditions. He was never given the chance to be a child. Never allowed to rest, to play, or to grow without fear. Decades of physical labor and mistreatment have taken a devastating toll on his body. As a result, he now suffers from severe medical issues that have caused all the cartilage in his hip bones to completely deteriorate.

Doctors have told us that he must undergo a double hip transplant within the next year, otherwise, he will lose his ability to walk entirely. The cost of this procedure is far beyond what our family can afford, but having it done in Mexico gives us hope that it’s possible with community support. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us bring him closer to a pain-free life.
