It’s with a heavy heart that I share that my uncle, Romualdo—endearingly known to us as Uncle June—passed away last night, November 25th, 2024. Although we weren’t as close as I would have liked in recent years, I’ll always remember his great sense of humor, which reminded me so much of my dad’s, and the way he was always there to help others in his community.

Unfortunately, due to life and circumstances, we became more distant over time, and I regret not having the chance to get to know him better. Uncle June was my father’s last living sibling, and I want to do everything I can to honor him and help during this time.

The hospital has notified us that we have just four days to make arrangements for his funeral, which has added even more urgency and stress to an already overwhelming situation. As his only immediate family, I’m doing my best, but I’m not in a position to fully cover the expenses. His health declined so quickly, and his passing feels so sudden—it’s hard to even process right now.
