At 102 years old, and marching toward 103, Uncle Jack is facing new challenges that require daily care, comfort, and attention. He's battling advanced skin cancer under his right eye, and because of his age and the tumor's location, treatment is no longer an option. Our focus now is on comfort, alternative therapies, and consistent wound care to manage pain and prevent infection.

His living and medical expenses total $6,000 to $7,000 per month, while his income from Social Security and the VA provides less than half of that. This campaign bridges the gap, covering his caregivers, companions, wound care supplies, assisted living costs, and ongoing medical needs.

For those who don't know Jack's story, it began long before social media found him.

Jack is a WWII veteran, a naturalist, and a man who has made millions smile through his humor and humanity. But behind the viral videos and wise words is a story of love and resilience.

Jack and I have been best friends since I was nine years old. We used to hike, birdwatch, and catch lizards together. When my father passed away in 2008, I became Uncle Jack's primary caregiver. With no spouse, children, or savings, his care became my responsibility and my greatest honor.

In 2021, as his needs grew, I started a GoFundMe and began sharing our story. The response changed our lives. Because of your generosity, Jack has spent the last few years living safely in a warm assisted living home, surrounded by amazing humans who help keep his days full of laughter, curiosity, and connection.

Our journey continues... Long-term care, wound management, and daily companionship remain essential to his comfort and quality of life. Every contribution brings peace of mind and stability to Jack's remaining years.
